Why we stock the Sharnford Stacking range

The stacking design matters more than people think. If you're in a new-build with a compact patio, or a terrace with a narrow yard, being able to stack the chairs means you can clear the space quickly for planters, a BBQ, or just a walkway to the back door. We created this range because too many bistro sets sit in the way permanently - and that defeats the point of a small-footprint set.

At £424 with delivery included, it's a straightforward way to stop the disposable bistro set cycle. All you need to do is give it an occasional wipe down to keep it looking its best. And if you'd like to see the latte colour in person before you decide, our showroom at Sapcote Garden Centre is open 7 days a week.

What's the difference between this and cheaper bistro sets?

The frame material. Cheaper bistro sets typically use steel, which corrodes from the inside out once moisture gets past the powder coating at joints and bolt holes. This set uses aluminium, which cannot rust - so you avoid the orange staining and structural weakening that usually starts after two or three wet winters.

Can I leave the Sharnford stacking bistro set outside all year r

The aluminium frame cannot rust, so the set stays outside all year round - rain, frost, snow. The HDPE rattan will not rot, meaning damp isn't a problem for the furniture itself. A cover is optional for convenience, but it isn't needed for the frame or rattan to survive winter.

Do the chairs stack neatly for storage?

Both chairs stack into a single column, so storing them takes seconds. If you're working with a balcony, a terraced patio, or a small courtyard, stacking is what stops a bistro set becoming a permanent obstacle you have to walk around.

Is the latte rattan likely to fade in the sun?

HDPE rattan is UV-stabilised, so it holds its colour through outdoor exposure far better than PVC, which tends to go patchy and brittle after a couple of summers. In our experience, UV stability is the difference between a set that still looks consistent after a few years and one that doesn't.

Is this set a good choice if it's my first proper garden furnitu

A bistro set is a sensible starting point, especially on a new-build patio or balcony. The key thing to know is the frame: aluminium cannot rust, meaning you're not buying something you'll need to replace after a couple of wet winters. The stacking chairs also mean it won't take over your space as you figure out how you want to use it.

Do you have a showroom where I can see the colour in person?

Our showroom is at Sapcote Garden Centre in Leicestershire - you can see the latte rattan up close and sit in the chairs before you decide. Our helpful and knowledgeable staff are here 7 days a week if you want to talk through what will fit your space.

How much assembly is required?

Only the table, and it is one step: the tabletop screws onto its base with the screws provided. Both chairs arrive fully assembled and stack when not in use.

Delivery is included in the price, 3-7 working days to mainland UK. Your furniture is delivered on pallets via our courier, and we'll email you a timed delivery window so you're not waiting around all day.

Worth knowing: our courier delivers to the kerbside or driveway, they won't take items around the back of the house, and the pallet and boxes are left with you. If you'd prefer a white-glove delivery with set-up and rubbish taken away, get in touch and we can usually help.

We dispatch from our Leicestershire garden centre. "In stock" means we have it here, ready to send, not drop-shipped from a third-party warehouse.

Returns: if you're not happy, let us know within 7 days and you can return it within 30 days for a refund (minus return delivery costs). The furniture must be in its original condition and packaging, and we'll arrange the collection with you.
