How does the rocking and reclining work?

Use the lever on the right arm to recline: lean back and the chair holds anywhere you stop. A second lever controls the footrest. The Stop Rock Lock stops the rocking completely, turning each chair into a stationary recliner for meals and drinks.

What about the cushions?

Current stock comes with the upgraded Olefin weather-resistant cushions: a lining inside the cover keeps the filling dry if they catch a shower, though the surface can still dampen. Showerproof rather than fully waterproof, and the comfortable feel has not changed. We would still advise storing them when you are not using the set.

What is it made from?

The aluminium frame cannot rust, so the set lives outside all year round with no cover needed. Steel-framed sets corrode from the inside out through joints and bolt holes; that is why we only stock aluminium. The UV-stabilised HDPE rattan will not fade, crack or go brittle, and the whole set is backed by our 3-Year Guarantee.

How big is it?

Each chair is W78 x D86 x H103cm, and the table is 60 x 60 x 43cm. Allow around 230cm x 90cm for the set, with a little extra depth per chair to recline fully.

What's the difference between this and cheaper rocking bistro se

The frame and the mechanism. Cheaper sets typically use steel frames and basic rocking - that's where rust and wobble start within a couple of seasons. This set uses an aluminium frame that cannot rust and includes a lockable rocking function, so you can switch between rocking, reclining, and stationary whenever you need to.

Do the rocking chairs lock so they don't move?

Each chair has a lockable mechanism that stops the rocking motion completely, turning it into a stationary recliner. In our experience, this is what makes the set practical for everyday use - rock when you're relaxing, lock it steady when you're eating or balancing a drink.

How long does delivery take?

The set ships on a pallet because the rocking and reclining mechanisms need proper protection in transit. Pallet delivery through a specialist service takes longer than a standard courier parcel, but it means the moving parts arrive intact. Delivery is included in the price.

Is there a showroom where I can try the chairs?

Our garden furniture showroom at Sapcote Garden Centre in Leicestershire has this set on display. You can sit in the chairs, try the rocking and reclining motion, and test the lock mechanism before you buy. Our helpful and knowledgeable staff are here 7 days a week - with a set like this, the feel is worth trying in person.

Will the silver grey rattan fade in the sun?

The rattan is UV-stabilised HDPE (high-density polyethylene), chosen specifically because it will not fade, crack, or go brittle in direct sun. PVC rattan used on cheaper sets becomes brittle after a couple of summers - HDPE is a completely different material, made for long-term outdoor use without colour loss.

How much assembly is required, and do I need tools?

Hardly any, and no tools at all. The chairs arrive with their rocking mechanisms held by cable ties for transit: snip the ties, slot each backrest into the chair body, and the set is ready to use. Most customers are sitting down within a few minutes of unboxing.

Can I leave this rattan bistro set outside all year round?

The aluminium frame cannot rust and the UV-stabilised HDPE rattan will not fade, crack, or go brittle, so the frame and weave can stay outside through every season with no cover needed. We advise storing the cushions when not in use to keep them in good condition - the frame itself needs nothing.

Delivery is included in the price, 3-7 working days to mainland UK. Your furniture is delivered on pallets via our courier, and we'll email you a timed delivery window so you're not waiting around all day.

Worth knowing: our courier delivers to the kerbside or driveway, they won't take items around the back of the house, and the pallet and boxes are left with you. If you'd prefer a white-glove delivery with set-up and rubbish taken away, get in touch and we can usually help.

We dispatch from our Leicestershire garden centre. "In stock" means we have it here, ready to send, not drop-shipped from a third-party warehouse.

Returns: if you're not happy, let us know within 7 days and you can return it within 30 days for a refund (minus return delivery costs). The furniture must be in its original condition and packaging, and we'll arrange the collection with you.
