Will the Dark Grey suit my patio and door trim?

Yes, usually. The Dark Grey rattan is anthracite in natural light, so it pairs cleanly with dark slate paving, charcoal porcelain, anthracite bi-fold trim, or charcoal composite decking. If your garden is already in that palette, this is the colour that works with it rather than clashing.

Will the Dark Grey fade outside year-round?

Hardly at all. We use UV-stabilised synthetic rattan, treated with compounds that absorb UV light before it can break down the material. The anthracite doesn't go patchy or chalky through long British summers the way untreated PVC rattan does after a couple of years.

UV stability matters on every colour, and on a dark rattan in particular the visual difference between treated and untreated shows up faster than people expect. In our experience, customers come back ten or fifteen years later saying the Dark Grey looks the same as the day it arrived, which is the test that counts.

Is it really all-weather, no cover needed?

Yes. The frame is aluminium, which cannot rust, and we use a 0.2mm powder coating, two to three times thicker than what most aluminium garden furniture carries, so the coating doesn't break down through wet winters and freezing nights. The hand-woven UV-stabilised rattan won't fade, rot or go brittle when left outside year-round. The 5mm tempered safety glass top doesn't crack in British winters the way ordinary glass can.

This means the set is fully weatherproof and doesn't need a cover or storage, so it saves you the hassle and the £50-£100 a cover would cost. Cushions are the only part that needs storing between uses.

Will four people fit comfortably round it?

Yes. Allow roughly 2.5 metres total width for the table and chairs to be pulled out, with a walkway behind each seat. Mark the footprint out with tape on your patio first if you're unsure, that's usually enough to confirm the fit before you order.

With four people around a circular layout, everyone gets the same elbow room and there's no head-of-the-table dynamic, so conversation flows naturally through the meal instead of splitting into two end-of-table pairs.

How does this compare to other round sets at this price?

Cheaper round sets at this size use steel frames that rust within a couple of winters and PVC rattan that goes brittle in the sun. You'd be replacing the set sooner and dealing with rust streaks on your paving in the meantime, which shows up more obviously on dark slate or charcoal porcelain than on lighter paving.

What's the difference between this and cheaper 4 seater rattan d

The frame material, first. Cheaper sets often use powder-coated steel, and we’ve seen customers come to us after two or three seasons with a frame rusting from the inside out. This set uses an aluminium frame because aluminium cannot rust. You’re also getting UV-stabilised HDPE rattan rather than PVC, and a 5 mm tempered safety glass top.

Do the cushions stay outside in the rain?

We advise storing the cushions away when you’re not using the set. In our experience, “waterproof” cushions feel clammy, trap heat, and the coating can crack after a couple of summers in UV. Breathable cushions are simply nicer to sit on - all you need to do is keep them in a storage box or bring them indoors.

Is the glass top safe for outdoor use?

It’s 5 mm tempered safety glass, which handles everyday knocks and temperature swings - including a British frost - better than standard glass. You get a stable surface for plates and drinks without worrying about chips or cracks.

How much assembly is required?

Only the table. The chairs arrive fully assembled. The table base is four panels that screw together with two screws per side, then four screws attach the tabletop. All screws are included, and a screwdriver is the only tool you should need.

Will dark grey rattan fade in the sun?

The rattan is UV-stabilised HDPE (high-density polyethylene), which is what stops it fading and going brittle in direct sunlight. PVC rattan on cheaper sets can crack after a couple of summers, but HDPE holds its dark grey colour year after year.

Delivery is included in the price, 3-7 working days to mainland UK. Your furniture is delivered on pallets via our courier, and we'll email you a timed delivery window so you're not waiting around all day.

Worth knowing: our courier delivers to the kerbside or driveway, they won't take items around the back of the house, and the pallet and boxes are left with you. If you'd prefer a white-glove delivery with set-up and rubbish taken away, get in touch and we can usually help.

Returns: if you're not happy, let us know within 7 days and you can return it within 30 days for a refund (minus return delivery costs). The furniture must be in its original condition and packaging, and we'll arrange the collection with you.
