What does the height-adjustable table actually do?

Lift the top from a low position for drinks and feet-up afternoons to proper eating level, in one motion. The difference between a 45cm coffee-height table and a 70cm dining-height table is the difference between balancing a plate on your knees and eating properly. Drop the table low for an hour outside with the paper, then raise it when you carry plates out for Sunday lunch, then drop it again afterwards when the dishes clear.

The point of the adjustable mechanism is that even on a big patio, you don't want both a coffee table and a separate dining set taking up the floor every day for the four weekends a year you need both. We designed this set so one piece of furniture serves both heights, which frees up the rest of the patio for the seating itself, for planters, or for the route past the bi-fold doors. The mechanism works with the surface still loaded both ways.

Can I rearrange the layout when the patio use changes?

Yes. The corner sections come apart and stand on their own, so you can arrange them around the patio shape rather than force the patio to fit a fixed L. Run the sections along a long terrace on one wall, tighten them into an L for everyday use, or slide one section clear of a back-door arc when the bi-folds open wide. Fixed-frame corner sofas commit you to one configuration on day one, and the garden use changes over a decade.

For hosting, spread the sections wider so a route through to the kitchen stays open. For day-to-day, pull them closer in around the lowered table. No tools, no commitment to a single configuration.

Is it really all-weather, no cover needed, and is the jet-washer claim real?

Yes on both. The frame is aluminium, which cannot rust, and we use a 0.2mm powder coating, two to three times thicker than what most aluminium garden furniture carries, so the coating doesn't break down through wet winters and freezing nights. The hand-woven UV-stabilised synthetic rattan doesn't fade, rot or go brittle when left outside year-round.

The jet-washer claim matters because most outdoor furniture can't take a pressure jet. On a steel frame, the powder coating is the only barrier between water and the metal underneath, and a pressure jet at the wrong angle can lift it off and start rust in the joints. Aluminium doesn't have that problem, so you can blast off leaves, pollen and winter grime in spring without worrying about the joints. You can leave the structure out through every season with no cover, saving you the £50 to £100 a cover would cost. In our experience, customers come back ten or fifteen years later saying their rattan is just as good as the day they bought it. Cushions are the only part you'll want to bring in of an evening; a deck box on the patio or a shelf indoors keeps them dry between sittings.

How does this compare to other large corner lounge sets at this price?

Cheaper large corner sets at this size use steel frames that rust within a couple of winters and PVC rattan that goes brittle in the sun. They pair the frame with a fixed-height table that locks you into drinks-height-only or dining-height-only, never both. You'd be replacing the set sooner and dealing with rust streaks across your paving in the meantime.

Considering a brand-name large corner lounge at £3,000 or more? You'd be paying mainly for the marketing and the polished website. Are the cushions waterproof?

No, and that's deliberate. Waterproof cushions feel clammy, trap heat, and the coatings crack after a couple of summers in UV. We designed these for comfort - just store them when you're not using them and they'll last years.

How much assembly is required?

None at all. The whole set, including the height-adjustable table, arrives fully assembled and ready to use.

What's the difference between this and a cheaper large rattan co

Two things: frame material and the table. Cheaper large corner sets typically use steel frames - steel rusts from the inside out through joints and bolt holes, often within a couple of seasons. The Burbage uses an aluminium frame that cannot rust. The height adjustable table also means you can lounge and dine from the same set, rather than choosing one or the other.

Can I leave the Burbage corner set outside all year round?

The frame and rattan, yes - leave them out all year. Aluminium cannot rust, and the UV-stabilised HDPE rattan will not fade or go brittle in sun. All you need to do is store the cushions away when you're not using them. No cover needed for the frame or weave.

Is Stone Grey rattan likely to fade in the sun?

The weave is UV-stabilised HDPE rattan, which will not fade or go brittle in sunlight. In our experience, UV stabilisation is the main difference between sets that still look consistent after several summers and sets that dry out and crack. Stone Grey holds its colour well.

How long does delivery take?

Around 3-7 working days. The set arrives on a wooden pallet, packed in cardboard boxes to protect it in transit. Delivery is included in the price. If you're planning around a first barbecue of summer, ordering early gives you breathing room.

Delivery is included in the price, 3-7 working days to mainland UK. Your furniture is delivered on pallets via our courier, and we'll email you a timed delivery window so you're not waiting around all day.

Worth knowing: our courier delivers to the kerbside or driveway, they won't take items around the back of the house, and the pallet and boxes are left with you. If you'd prefer a white-glove delivery with set-up and rubbish taken away, get in touch and we can usually help.

We dispatch from our Leicestershire garden centre. "In stock" means we have it here, ready to send, not drop-shipped from a third-party warehouse.

Returns: if you're not happy, let us know within 7 days and you can return it within 30 days for a refund (minus return delivery costs). The furniture must be in its original condition and packaging, and we'll arrange the collection with you.
