Does one set really handle both lounging and dining?

Yes, that's the point of this layout. Most people end up either balancing plates on their knees on a lounge set, or sitting bolt upright on a dining set when they wanted to relax. We designed this set differently.

The 3-seat sofa and the armchairs give you a proper lounging arrangement for morning coffee, an afternoon with a book, or evening drinks. The dining table sits at the centre, so when it's time for a meal you're not dragging chairs out from the kitchen or carrying plates across the garden. Pull the seating in for a long Sunday lunch, push it back out afterwards for the relaxed end of the day. Two separate sets would take twice the space on the patio and leave you choosing between two halves of a garden afternoon.

Will Natural rattan fade in the sun?

Hardly at all, because the weave is treated against UV. We use UV-stabilised synthetic rattan, treated to absorb UV light before it can break down the material. Untreated PVC weave on cheaper sets goes chalky and patchy within two summers, especially on lighter tones where uneven fading shows up faster.

The Natural weave is a warm multi-tonal beige that shares brick, stone, and timber tones rather than clashing with them. In our experience, customers come back ten or fifteen years later saying the rattan still looks the same as the day it arrived, and the warm tone has settled into the garden rather than standing out against it.

Will it fit our patio?

A six-seater layout of this kind typically wants around four metres square of patio for the sofa, the chairs round the dining table, and clearance behind each piece. The modular flex helps: you can tuck the sofa to a back wall and pull the chairs in closer, or spread the pieces wider if you have the room. Mark the shape out with masking tape on the slabs first, then walk past the marked area the way you'd actually use the route to the back door or the bins. That's usually enough to confirm the fit before you order.

Is it really all-weather, no cover needed?

Yes. The frame is aluminium, which cannot rust, and we use a 0.2mm powder coating, two to three times thicker than what most aluminium garden furniture carries, so the coating doesn't break down through wet winters and freezing nights. The hand-woven UV-stabilised rattan won't fade, rot or go brittle when left outside year-round. The 5mm tempered safety glass top doesn't crack in British winters the way ordinary glass can.

This means you can leave the structure outside through the whole year, so you save the hassle and the £50 to £100 a cover would cost. Cushions are the only part you'll want to bring in of an evening; pop them in a patio storage box or take them indoors between sittings, and they'll stay comfortable for years.

How does this compare to other lounge-dining sets at this price?

Cheaper 6-seater lounge-dining sets at the budget end use steel frames that rust at joints and bolt holes within a couple of wet winters, paired with PVC weave that goes chalky in the sun. You'd be back shopping for a replacement set inside three years, and there'd be orange streaks across your paving in the meantime.

The frame and rattan can stay outside all year round - the aluminium cannot rust, so you don't need a cover for the structure to survive winter. We advise storing the cushions indoors or in a storage box when you're not using the set.

What is the frame made from, and why does it matter?

The frame is aluminium, which cannot rust. That matters because steel-frame sets often corrode from the inside out at joints and bolt holes - by the time you see rust on the surface, the structure is already weakened. In our experience, that's the difference between a set that lasts well over 10 years and one that stains your patio after a couple of winters.

Why aren't the cushions waterproof?

On purpose - for comfort. Waterproof coatings feel clammy, trap heat, and crack after a couple of summers in UV. The simpler approach is storage: bring the cushions indoors or use a cushion box when the weather turns, and they'll stay comfortable for years.

Does the Natural rattan colour fade in the sun?

The rattan is HDPE - high-density polyethylene - which is UV-stabilised, so it holds its colour and won't go brittle the way cheaper PVC weaves do over time. Normal care is just an occasional wipe-down and storing the cushions when you're not using the set.

Do I need a cover in winter?

A cover is optional for keeping things clean, not for protecting the structure. The aluminium frame cannot rust and the HDPE rattan is UV-stabilised, so both can stay outside all year. If furniture needs a cover to survive winter, it's not weatherproof - it's just outdoor-tolerant. Store the cushions, and the rest takes care of itself.

How much assembly is required?

Only the table. The seating arrives fully assembled. The table base is two panels joined by a central bar, with two screws each side of the bar, then four screws attach the tabletop. All screws are included, and a screwdriver is the only tool you should need.

Can I see this set in person before I buy?

Our showroom at Sapcote Garden Centre in Leicestershire is open 7 days a week. You can sit on the furniture, check the rattan colour against what you have at home, and talk through layout options with our helpful and knowledgeable staff - no sales pressure, just honest advice.

Delivery is included in the price, 3-7 working days to mainland UK. Your furniture is delivered on pallets via our courier, and we'll email you a timed delivery window so you're not waiting around all day.

Worth knowing: our courier delivers to the kerbside or driveway, they won't take items around the back of the house, and the pallet and boxes are left with you. If you'd prefer a white-glove delivery with set-up and rubbish taken away, get in touch and we can usually help.
