Full product details
Will this fit a smaller patio without taking over?
Yes, usually. The 'Mini' in the name refers to the footprint, not the seating: it sits in roughly a 2.45m by 2.45m corner of patio, where a full-size 8-seater corner set typically needs around 3m by 3m and leaves nowhere to walk past. That extra half-metre on each side is usually the difference between a corner set that works day to day and one that blocks the route to the lawn.
Mark the footprint out with masking tape on the slabs before you order if your patio is tight, then walk the route past it with a washing basket or to a back-door swing. Five minutes of tape settles whether the set works in your space.
Will the dark grey suit my patio and door trim?
Yes, usually. The dark grey rattan is anthracite in natural light, so it pairs cleanly with anthracite bi-fold trim and charcoal composite decking. If your garden is already in that palette, this is the colour that works with it rather than clashing.
If you're unsure how the tone looks in your own light, our showroom at Sapcote Garden Centre in Leicestershire has the Sapcote range on display, and looking at it in natural daylight is the quickest way to be confident before you commit.
Is it really all-weather, no cover needed?
Yes. The frame is aluminium, which cannot rust, and we use a 0.2mm powder coating, two to three times thicker than what most aluminium garden furniture carries, so the coating doesn't break down through wet winters and freezing nights. We also use UV-stabilised synthetic rattan, which won't fade, rot or go brittle when left outside year-round. The 5mm tempered safety glass top doesn't crack in British winters the way ordinary glass can.
This means the structure doesn't need a cover or storage, saving you the hassle and the £50 to £100 a cover would cost. In our experience, customers come back ten or fifteen years later saying their rattan is just as good as when they first bought it. Cushions are the only part you'll want to bring in of an evening; all you need to do is store them in a deck box or bring them indoors between uses.
Can I rearrange it when my patio set-up changes?
Yes. The sections come apart, so you can switch between a left-hand L and a right-hand L, slide a section aside when the BBQ comes out, or separate the pieces to clear a path to the back door for a gathering. A fixed-frame corner sofa locks you into one layout on day one, and on a tight patio that's the difference between using the space or working around the furniture.
How does this compare to other small corner sets at this price?
Cheaper compact corner sets at this size use steel frames that rust within a couple of winters and PVC rattan that goes brittle in the sun. You'd be replacing the set sooner and dealing with rust streaks on your paving in the meantime, which shows up more obviously on dark slate or anthracite porcelain than on lighter paving.
Considering a brand-name corner set at £2,000 or more? You'd be paying mainly for the marketing and the polished website. The actual furniture is almost exactly the same as ours: aluminium frame, UV-stabilised rattan, 5mm tempered glass top. We design our own Sapcote range and sell it direct from our family-run Leicestershire showroom since 2001, without the excessive markup of big name brands.

Common questions
Do you have a showroom where I can see the Sapcote range?
Our showroom is at Sapcote Garden Centre in Leicestershire, and you can see the full Sapcote range in person before you buy. Our helpful and knowledgeable staff are here 7 days a week to talk through layout, colour, and what will work best for your space.
How many people does this set seat?
The set seats 4–6 people. The "mini" part refers to keeping the footprint manageable rather than reducing the seating. If you're furnishing a courtyard or a typical new-build patio, this gives you room to stretch out day to day, with enough space when friends come round.
What’s the difference between this and a cheaper small rattan co
The frame material is the big difference. Cheaper sets typically use steel, which rusts from the inside out through joints and bolt holes. This set uses an aluminium frame that cannot rust, so you can leave it outside all year round. In our experience, that single difference is what stops you replacing a set after two or three seasons.
Can I leave the Sapcote Mini Modular Corner Set outside all year
The frame and rattan stay outside all year round - no cover needed. The aluminium frame cannot rust, and the UV-stabilised HDPE rattan will not fade or go brittle. We advise storing the cushions away when you're not using them, but the base furniture handles whatever the weather throws at it.
Is the L-shape fixed, or can I change the layout?
It's modular, so you can arrange the sections to suit your space - left-hand L, right-hand L, or separated out. That's particularly useful on a tighter patio where you need to keep a walkway clear or work around a door swing.
Why don’t you use waterproof cushions?
Because they're uncomfortable. Waterproof cushions feel clammy, trap heat, and the coating cracks after a couple of summers in UV. We'd rather you have cushions you actually want to sit on. All you need to do is store them in a box or indoors when you're not using them.
How much assembly is required?
Only the table. The seating arrives fully assembled. The table base is two panels joined by a central bar, with two screws each side of the bar, then four screws attach the tabletop. All screws are included, and a screwdriver is the only tool you should need.
Is the table top glass, and is it safe?
The table comes with 5mm tempered safety glass, which handles day-to-night temperature swings better than standard glass. If it ever breaks, it fractures into small granules rather than sharp shards - a detail worth knowing if you're barefoot on the patio in summer.
Will dark grey rattan fade in the sun?
The rattan is UV-stabilised HDPE, which resists fading and brittleness from sunlight. PVC rattan - the type most budget sets use - starts to chalk and discolour after a couple of summers, but HDPE holds its colour more consistently over time.
Care & assembly
| Frame Care | The aluminium frame cannot rust, meaning you can leave it outside all year round. Wipe down with a damp cloth if you need to. |
|---|---|
| Rattan Care | UV-stabilised HDPE rattan will not fade or go brittle in the sun, so it’s happy outside. Rinse with clean water to remove dust and pollen when needed. |
| Cushion Care | All you need to do is store the cushions indoors or in a storage box when you’re not using them. We advise this because it keeps thick cushions comfortable for longer. |
| Glass Care | 5mm tempered safety glass: wipe clean with a soft cloth and glass cleaner. It handles temperature swings better than standard glass. |
| Winter Care | Leave the frame and rattan outside all year round - no cover needed. Store the cushions away so they stay dry and ready to use. |
| Assembly | All the seating arrives fully assembled. Only the table needs putting together: a central bar connects the two base panels with two screws each side, then four screws fix the base to the tabletop. All screws are included, with full instructions. |
Delivery & returns
Delivery is included in the price, 3-7 working days to mainland UK. Your furniture is delivered on pallets via our courier, and we'll email you a timed delivery window so you're not waiting around all day.
Worth knowing: our courier delivers to the kerbside or driveway, they won't take items around the back of the house, and the pallet and boxes are left with you. If you'd prefer a white-glove delivery with set-up and rubbish taken away, get in touch and we can usually help.
We dispatch from our Leicestershire garden centre. "In stock" means we have it here, ready to send, not drop-shipped from a third-party warehouse.
Returns: if you're not happy, let us know within 7 days and you can return it within 30 days for a refund (minus return delivery costs). The furniture must be in its original condition and packaging, and we'll arrange the collection with you.
Who you're buying from
This isn't a website with a warehouse. It's a garden centre with a website.
Garden Centre Shopping is the online shop of Sapcote Garden Centre, a family-run garden centre in rural Leicestershire. Our furniture is standing on the showroom floor right now. Come and sit in it, then weigh it up over a coffee and a slice of cake in the cafe.
Rather have a look around first? Walk around the showroom in Street View or watch the tours on YouTube.
